We’re so excited to share our first Member Spotlight- meet Wendy Hayes, Ontario-based Digital Marketing Specialist.
I am a Digital Marketing Specialist working with small businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profits in the GTA (and beyond). I focus on working with women-owned and social impact/social enterprise businesses with sliding scale rates. Primarily I help my clients with copywriting, website management, communications planning, email marketing, video production, paid search/ads, and social media management. In my spare time, I am passionate about aerial arts and am working toward becoming an instructor. My dream for my business is to become a B Corp and a Social Enterprise myself. Also, I love cats. 🐱
What is an achievement that you are very proud of?
It’s not an ‘achievement’ in the traditional sense but I made the decision to go back to school this year. It was a hard decision to make, but I am looking forward to building my skill set so I can bring more to the table for my clients!
What made you decide to pursue your business?
Passion feels like the easy answer. I love Digital Marketing but I hit a glass ceiling in my career prior to starting my own business. I love the diversity that working with different clients who do different things brings to my work! I get to learn so much!
How do you hope to see your business grow?
In the future I would like to become a certified B Corp and Social Enterprise myself. I envision a ‘Buy One, Give One’ services model so that I can donate my time to nonprofits and start ups.
Is there a message you’d like to share with other female entrepreneurs?
Being a womxn entrepreneur is resistance! Creating our own space in this world is radical and awesome! Keep at it, stay passionate and don’t forget to take care of yourself while you build your business!
