Learn more about the women in your community!

Meet Belinda Clemmensen, Founder of Women’s Leadership Intensive.

At the Women’s Leadership Intensive (WLI) our mission is to inspire, empower, support and equip women to lead the change the world needs. Our core program is a full-year leadership journey, created by women for women.

Women come to this transformational program to find their voice, build confidence and overcome limitations, work and develop with a community that truly understands their experiences, and develop to their full leadership potential. The program includes 3 retreats, monthly online learning, monthly one-on-one coaching and connection to a powerful community of other women leaders. Next intake for the program is February 2021.

Coming in October 2020 we will have a fully virtual introductory course for women who are ready to start right away!

What is an achievement that you are very proud of?

Founding the Women’s Leadership Intensive and creating a safe space for women to be together in community and truly grow into their leadership potential.

What is a piece of advice that you could offer others who would like to follow in your path?

Don’t do this alone. This is way easier and more fun when we do it together.

What has kept you feeling driven and motivated even during the harder parts of entrepreneurship?

I’ve been an entrepreneur for over 25 years, my whole career. So I’ve built a sense of confidence in myself that I can do this! Also I’ve weathered many storms in that time so I also have a longer view – I see a challenge and I know it will change over time and something new will come.

What made you decide to pursue your business?

I had been working in leadership development and had a crisis of consciousness – I realized I was developing leaders to lead things that I didn’t actually believe in. I am for change, and I couldn’t continue to scaffold the status quo. So I had to ask myself: If I was going to apply everything I’ve learned over my career to support people to lead change, who would those people be? And the answer is women. My own experience aligns with all the research that shows us that when women lead, things get better on all metrics, for everyone.

How do you hope to see your business grow?

I would like to be able to run more cohorts of the full-year program each year so more women can have this powerful experience. And knowing that it’s not for everyone we are in development of a powerful virtual program so that we can have broader reach and support more women on the path of leadership.

Is there a message you’d like to share with other female entrepreneurs?

There are those of us out here, CanWCC chief among us (thank you!), who believe in you. We believe in what you’re doing even on the days when you do not. We’re in your corner and believe that what you are doing deeply matters, even more than you might think it does.

How has CanWCC helped you?

Having CanWCC has really helped me stretch into owning my place as an entrepreneur and believing that all of us women out here making it happen are valuable and important, not just in our immediate circles, but to the economy and to our society. We matter.
