CanWCC Bids Farewell to Twitter Amidst Rising Discrimination

Dear CanWCC Community,

After six years of active engagement on Twitter, CanWCC is announcing a decision to discontinue the use of our Twitter account. This move is not taken lightly but is rooted in our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space for all women-identified and non-binary entrepreneurs and business owners.

Over the past year, we have observed a disturbing increase in discriminatory tweets, particularly those targeting 2SLGBTQIA+, Black, and other equity deserving communities . This surge in anti-2SLGBTQIA+, anti-Black, and other discriminatory content has been a cause for concern, and we believe it is our responsibility to take a stand against such harmful behaviour.

CanWCC advocates for equal opportunities and empowerment for all, and in solidarity with non-binary,, 2SLGBTQIA+, and other systematically excluded communities, we feel that ceasing the use of Twitter is a necessary step to ensure the well-being of our community members. Our decision is aligned with our core values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

We invite you to continue supporting CanWCC and stay connected with us through other platforms. You can find us on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Threads and YouTube. Our presence on these platforms is growing, and we are excited about the positive change we can continue to create together.

To stay updated on CanWCC’s initiatives and activities, we encourage you to sign up for our email newsletter. This will ensure that you receive timely updates and valuable information directly from us.

We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support as we navigate this transition. By leaving Twitter, we aim to foster a digital environment that aligns with our values and prioritizes the safety and well-being of our community.

Thank you for being part of the CanWCC community, and we look forward to connecting with you on our other platforms.

In solidarity,

The CanWCC Team
